Bowl Turning Basics featuring small class sizes providing
increased individual attention.
Date; Feb 1 and 2
Two-day class for beginners and intermediate turners.
Class will include:
1. Safety.
2. Tool selection and sharpening.
3. The workings of a woodturning Lathe.
4. Turning blank preparation and grain orientation.
5. Mounting a blank on lathe stressing safety.
6. Roughing out a bowl. Green and dry blanks.
7. Finish turn a bowl.
8. Sanding and finishing.
Tools required.
1. ½ inch bowl gouge
2. Sharpening Jig by Wolverine or Tru-grind by
Woodcut.
Safety equipment required.
1. Face shield
2. Safety glasses
3. Dust mask
Coffee and snack provided. Bring your own lunch.
Small class sizes. Max 4 students.
